Not to rely on a bus, Uber, or taxi is something I highly appreciate. It gives me freedom and the freedom to get lost.
Getting lost is an absolute positive thing; by lost, I mean wandering in awe of a place that I haven’t been before, like Cyprus, for example.
It is my first time visiting, and I try to fit a lot of diving, discovery, and fun into a short stay. So renting a Beach Buggy is convenient and a hell of much fun.
The night I arrived, I got a bicycle but realised fast that it is not such a convenient way to get around in Ayia Napa. The streets are busy at night, and as the island of Cyprus has so many beautiful beaches to offer, I am down to see as many as I can.
In my last post, I talked about how busy Ayia Napa gets at night. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot to see - if you like to party, you will definitely find your spot. If you are into beaches, you will definitely find some packed, beautiful, stunning, and incredibly wonderful sandy beaches to chill and relax, with entertainment, music, and life events. Just a quiet place might not be easy to find, at least during the season which lasts from April/May to September/October. Ayia Napa has many places where you can easily rent a Motorbike, Buggy, Big Buggy, or Monster Buggy.
I run into the Speed Bikes Shop, as it is about 1 minute from Pernera Beach. Right where the famous MUSAN-Museum of Underwater Sculpture is located. Of course, I was late as always, and the small Buggies were already rented out. I didn’t bother to check at another shop; I simply rented a Huge Beach Buggy at a good price.
Speed Bikes is one of the bigger rental shops here at Ayia Napa, with two locations to rent from. Besides Buggies, they also have Scooters, Quads in different sizes, and Bicycles in stock. Thanks to my Beach Buggie, I have seen an enormous amount of breathtaking beaches and outstanding sites, including diving spots, and a sculpture park which I will be talking about sometime soon. I grabbed Sandwiches off the road that were a delight to my taste buds, and I didn't even have to fill my Buggie with gas. I feel like it is run by passion.
I can't wait to be back and jump back onto my seat for another round off-road, up and down the highway, and who knows where else my Buggie will take me in the future.
