Wreck diving at the MS Zenobia

In the shallow waters of the Cyprus coast, about 1.5 km from Larnaca, lies a treasure bedded in the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
In 1980, the MS Zenobia ferry sank to the depths, along with its cargo, which included a load of over 100 trucks and other vehicles.
Nowadays, it is a diverse 172m-long Shangri-La, rated as one of the top 10 wreck dives in the world! We are arriving as the first boat at the wreck and the water is so clear that we get to see it from above the surface. To not lose time, we buckle up and descend into the depths of the warm water.
Here, wildlife has settled beside Lionfish and Seabeam, Nudibranchs and other tiny marine creatures gather around the ship's hull, and the soothing sound of divers breathing breaks through the water, mixed with millions of tiny bubbles sent by the sea to the surface, which is indeed a peaceful composition assembled by nature for its visitors.
On two dives, we discover the full length of the ferry, some of its cargo, and stop here and there to admire the hidden treasures inside its trunk. We are lucky, and a curious sea turtle surprises us with a quick visit.
Meeting turtles underwater has something so special as they glide seemingly effortlessly through the depths. Every now and then, you get lucky and they float by to say hello, may nibble on something colourful and then continue their journey.

To discover the MS Zenobia and more interesting dive sites around Larnaca, I recommend checking out the dive shop "Dive with Mario" - an experienced and professional guide who takes you on tours in small groups but has capacities up to 12 people on one boat.
